For Sonnie's birthday, we made cupcakes with a red velvet cake mix and a can of pumpkin puree. Although delicious, the batter was a frighteningly bright stainy red. I was going to post pictures of the process, including beater and bowl licking, but the pictures were just too disturbing, think: Claudia, the child vampire from Interview With A Vampire.
